Mike Petersen and Carlo Cannon will compete in two “Championship Challenge” matches. Who will they face?

With the first event of Melbourne City Wrestling’s 2014 beginning to set the tone for the rest of the year, MCW Management have been at odds about when Carlo Cannon will finally get his championship match against Mike Petersen, who has held the coveted title for over a year. Executive Producer Miss Cass has decided that before ‘Cash Money’ gets his title shot, both he AND Petersen will compete in a special “Championship Challenge” on Saturday February 8, as we present ‘Vendetta’ from the Tullamarine Public Hall.

We understand that the idea of the Championship Challenge is that both men will be facing off against a current, or former, champion, who may hail from anywhere in the country. And while Mike Petersen’s opponent is yet to be announced, his manager Sebastian Walker has told us that his clients opponent is one of the best in the country. Walker is hell bent on ensuring that ‘The Natural’ will not be getting an easy ride, in order to back up his words to Carlo Cannon: “you’re not just fighting for the title, you’re fighting for your career!”

Two of Melbourne’s very best square off in singles competition on February 8 at MCW Vendetta!

However, we CAN reveal that Carlo Cannon’s opponent has been selected, and we are proud to announce that he is one of Melbourne’s break out stars from the last couple of years: none other than the MCW Tag Team Champion, Adam Brooks! Since turning on the fans and his mentor Matt Silva a year ago, the man who used to be affectionately known as “Brooksy” has carved out a name for himself as a force to be reckoned with. In his second match teaming with Dowie James, he became one half of the MCW Tag Team Champions, with the duo becoming only the third team in MCW history to hold the belts. Adam Brooks holds victories over many of the top competitors in Melbourne City Wrestling, including Matt Silva, Robbie Eagles, and TMDK member Jonah Rock, who is currently competing for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan.

His opponent is also a man who has scrambled up the ranks, quickly becoming a fan favourite since winning the Ballroom Brawl Rumble in May of last year. Carlo Cannon has faced, and pinned, many of Australia’s best, even with seemingly insurmountable odds stacked against him, thanks to Miss Cass. Even so, Cash Money is inching closer and closer to his rightful shot at the MCW Championship. Will this be just another feather in the cap, as he continues his quest to win the top prize in Victorian Wrestling? Or will Adam Brooks continue to dominate the competition, as he continues to carve out a name for himself as one of Australia’s best? And where will Mike Petersen play into all of this? Find out as we present MCW Vendetta from the Tullamarine Public Hall on Saturday February 8. Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased by clicking this link!
