Two matches signed for the final Dragonfly event

The main event will be a three way match at the final Dragonfly show.

At the close of MCW Uprising, we saw a heated confrontation between Tommy Hellfire and the Melbourne City Wrestling Champion, Mike Petersen. Following the event, it was decided by MCW Executive Producer, Miss Cass, that both men will indeed compete for the MCW Championship, but it wont be until Ballroom Brawl on Saturday May 11. Melbourne City Wrestling kicked off 2013 with “Vendetta” at 1000 Pound Bend on Saturday night in its first ever over 18’s show.  While the mercury hit 35 degrees outside,  the temperature was hotter inside the venue with more twists, turns, violence and shocks than any MCW event in recent history. After an incredible fifteen years of hosting professional wrestling events, we are saddened to announce that Melbourne City Wrestling’s event on Friday March 15 will be the final professional wrestling show ever to be held at the iconic Dragonfly Restaurant on Mickleham Road, Tullamarine.

Beginning in the late 1990’s, the Dragonfly has seen the best wrestlers in Australia pass through, with three different promotions running in that venue. Up until 2004, Australian Championship Wrestling called ‘the Fly’ its home, with names like Psycho Kid Thunder, George ‘The Hitman’ Julio and the living legend himself, Mario Milano, competing for the promotion until 2004. Melbourne City Wrestling is set to kick of 2013 in a big way returning to the CBD and 1000 Pound Bend for Vendetta this Saturday Night, February 16. This is a strictly over 18’s show and you will be asked for ID when coming.

Our last show at 1000 Pound Bend was a massive success and this event promises to go one better.
