The rematch is on. HWI will be looking to reclaim the tag titles on October 5.

Saturday October 5 will see Melbourne City celebrating three years of providing one of Victoria’s premiere sports entertainment products, as we return to the building where it all began, The Thornbury Theatre. This grand venue has seen some of our very best moments and wildest matches in history. The wildest (and riskiest) match of all may be just around the corner on October 5, as two of the very best tag teams in Australia compete in a highly anticipated rematch that is sure to get the heart pumping!

Nick & Jett Armstrong form one of the most under-rated tag teams anywhere in the country today. At MCW’s ‘Fight to Survive’ in July, The Armstrongs ended the eight month reign of Mike Burr and Jay Andrews; Hard Way Inc. However, their win did not come without serious retribution, as the following month, at ‘Winter Warfare’, Hard Way Inc responded by attacking the champions following their successful first defense of their belts (against Smart Casual). They then went on to commit one of the most heinous acts in MCW history, as they hit their finishing move combo on the much loved fan favourite, referee Edwin Lay.

Not surprisingly, fans were shocked, and MCW Management were furious, including Miss Cass (who has always had a bit of a soft spot for the diminutive official). This cowardly and reprehensible act has not gone unseen, and it has been determined that whilst Hard Way Inc should be given a rematch for the MCW Tag Team Championships, it will be done AS A LADDER MATCH!

We have only seen two ladder matches in MCW history thus far, and both bouts are held in high regard by fans as some of the most insane matches to take place in Melbourne City Wrestling. Now, at the Third Year Extravaganza, the MCW Tag Team Championships will be placed fifteen feet high above the ring, with the winners being the team that manages to get both belts down to the ring canvas. This promises to be one of the most dangerous matches in company history, and it will take place on a night of action that fans of Australian professional wrestling simply cannot afford to miss!

Melbourne City Wrestling returns to Thornbury Theatre, Saturday October 5 for it’s Third Birthday Extravaganza. 859 High Street. Thornbury VIC. Doors 6:30pm. Show 7:30pm. Adults $25, Children $20 on the door. SAVE ON TICKETS AND PRE-BOOK ONLINE.
