For new talent to make a name for themselves in Melbourne City Wrestling it takes a lot of hard work, patience, determination and did I mention a lot of hard work. The hundreds of hours and all the sacrifices that these guys and girls put in are all because they all have the same dream: to make a name for themselves in professional wrestling. The reality is that wrestling is not for everyone, and only the most dedicated and determined athletes will make it. But for those who have made the cut, they eagerly train in anticipation for when management at MCW see something in them and call them up to for a shot on the main roster. The end result in previous years has been showcased in Melbourne City Wrestling’s “New Talent Initiative”, which has seen a select few debut each year, and work their way up the rankings at events. In 2011, we saw the rise of Adam Brooks and Ryan Rollins, and more recently in 2013, we saw Josh ‘The Axe’ Shooter take the same path up the ladder within MCW.

We have exciting times ahead of us here at Melbourne City Wrestling, as not only is our affiliated training academy, Vicious Pursuit, jam packed with talent waiting to be called up, but several hard working athletes from around the state are finally being given their opportunity with the number one professional wrestling promotion in town. Starting at February’s “Vendetta” event, and continuing over the next couple of months, you will get your first glimpse at some of the standouts that got that call and will be debuting on the MCW stage. Today on Travis’ Truth, I take a look at some of the top young talent to keep your eye on.
